About the Conference

The Collaborative Diversity Conference is an extension of Missouri State University’s commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion by helping enhance employee capabilities and competencies through diversity research, professional development, collaboration, and integrative activities and practices. As part of the University’s public affairs mission, this conference helps foster cultural competence and community engagement, keys to developing engaged citizens and diverse workplaces.

Conference objectives

The Statewide Collaborative Diversity Conference seeks to bring people together build a strong network and community for the support of diversity by:

  • Highlighting creative examples of research-based diversity program implementation in higher education
  • Discussing community-based approaches to promote and develop diversity and inclusion initiatives to address contemporary community issues
  • Showcasing unique opportunities for success of historically underrepresented constituencies including students, faculty, staff and citizens
  • Shares targed approaches to cultural competence/consciousness, intervention for all community stakeholders

Registration is required and seating is limited.

The Scott Page keynote session is free and open to the public.

Directions and parking

The Visitor's Guide provides directions to the Missouri State campus.

Parking

Free parking will be available for the event at Bear Park North parking garage. Bear Park North has an entrance on Elm Street and Walnut Street near Kimbrough Avenue.

Additional parking is available in lots 39, 44, 51 and 52.

Shuttle

The green Bear Line shuttle will provide free transportation from Bear Park North to Plaster Student Union.

Continuing Education

CEUs will be available at the conference.
