In addition, the study offers some recommendations to address and improve the living experience of diverse residents of our community.

The study which was led by Dr. Lyle Q. Foster in the Sociology Department was conducted during 2020 and received funding support from the Community Foundation of the Ozarks. Dr. Foster was assisted by Dr. Ximena Uribe-Zarain and Monica Horton with Lenica Consulting.

In commenting about the significance of the study Dr. Foster stated,

"The study offers some candid insight into the lived experiences of our growing diverse populations.  In an increasingly competitive job market it is important to understand and address these issues as they give insight into recruitment and retention.  And obviously, this information can help us improve the quality of life for others.  My hope is that our community can think of solutions and not receive the data from a defensive posture."
